Ocean Operations - Ocean Services – Coleshill
This interesting role in Ocean Import Operations provides you with the chance to deal with global markets rather than just one country and to take responsibility for all aspects of your shipments from start to finish. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an individual with some experience of imports to join a friendly and dynamic Ocean Services team and develop their knowledge and skills.
Main duties include the scheduling and administration of Ocean import shipments, communicating with customers, partners and shipping lines to ensure shipments are completed as planned, arranging import clearances, local deliveries and distribution.
Applicants need to have had some general freight forwarding experience, preferably in an import department, they are likely to be familiar with arranging FCL and LCL movements, have knowledge of Ocean Freight rates and associated service charges and have an understanding of UK customs regulations.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience, be able to prioritise, plan and organise work to achieve deadlines and have good attention to detail. They will have good communication skills, a flexible approach to work and be able to develop effective relationships with customers and colleagues. Above all they will be able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering the highest standards of customer service.

Trainee Logistics/Freight Forwarding Opportunities

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and focussed individuals who are keen to learn all aspects of a forward thinking, Freight Forwarding and Logistics organisation. Successful applicants will complete an in-house training programme over an 18 month period, incorporating operational roles, in addition to sales and warehouse placements and work based projects.
The ideal candidates should be confident, effective communicators, flexible and have the drive and determination to develop a career within the industry. You should be a graduate or have/or be working towards at least 3 A Levels (grade C or above), and have work experience, preferably gained in a customer facing role.

The starting salary will be commensurate with candidate's level of qualification as follows:
• A Level – starting salary of £12,000 with an increase of £1,500 every six months (subject to successful reviews)
• Graduates – starting salary of £14,000 plus an increase of £2,000 every six months (subject to successful reviews).

IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN, UK-London/SE-Colnbrook
Davies Turner plc, one of the UK’s leading independent freight forwarders is looking for an IT Support Technician to join its Technical Services Team based in Colnbrook.
Responsibilities include the implementation and support of VMware 4.0, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 2008 Server R2, Microsoft Systems Centre, HP Server hardware and Symantec Backup Exec. In addition, Cisco CCNA would be desirable, although this is not essential.
The role will also include 1st and 2nd line work assignments and overflow support for the company Helpdesk.
In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be a good team player, with good communication skills, have a flexible approach to work and be able to develop effective customer relationships, internally and externally.
This position is for a12 month Fixed Term Contract.
