With its supply chain requirements increasing alongside business sales, a logistics provider that could manage the UK and European distribution was required.

The Challenge

Having been established in 1981, Jermyn Street Design (JSD) has achieved considerable growth in sales and is an industry leader in the supply of bespoke corporate clothing, staff uniforms and branded workwear.

With its supply chain requirements increasing alongside business sales, JSD prioritised the appointment of a logistics service provider that could manage the UK and European distribution of products,  offer reliable and cost effective handling, and increase the pace of delivery from supplier to customers.
 

The Strategy

Following open discussions, opportunities were identified to re-engineer JSD's supply chain, to provide a flexible multi-channel distribution model, using a combination of Davies Turner’s fleet, the group's pallet network and courier connections.
 

The Solution

An implementation plan aligned with the strategy sees inventory received into our Dartford logistics centre being processed to identify the most efficient method of dispatch and ensure visibility throughout the supply chain.

The plan has also seen the implementation of an effective reverse logistics process.
 

The Results

By working in partnership, efficiencies and cost effective supply chain solutions have been implemented. In 2019 79,871 orders were delivered to 34,917 customers with full visibility of all shipments.

Greater flexibility in shipment planning, overall administration, and optimisation of transportation and improved automation of certain processes has been achieved resulting in a stronger relationship with the customer.
