Tomorrow Ltd

A flexible solution is the answer

The Challenge

Tomorrow Ltd helps bring more than 70 emerging international fashion brands to market, including the likes of A-Cold-Wall* and Coperni, as well as collaborations including Diesel Red Tag and Greg Lauren x Paul & Shark. Tomorrow understands that effective warehousing and distribution services are critical in ensuring that the brands retain prominence in a very competitive market place, and that service levels and ever-more demanding customer expectations are met.

In 2017, Tomorrow came to Davies Turner seeking ongoing logistics support to help underpin the ongoing success of its retail and wholesale operations, and support its new and emerging e-commerce platform, which would be a crucial part of the company's strategy and an additional distribution channel in a world becoming ever more dominated by online purchasing.

The Strategy

Tomorrow and Davies Turner management teams worked together to identify all key requirements for the e-commerce operation.

Systems were to be integrated and flexible storage and pick and pack solutions were required to ensure the operation could be as efficient as possible, whilst crucially having the scalability required to meet huge growth predicted on Tomorrow’s e-commerce platform.

The Solution

Implementation of an effective e-commerce operation required the use of flexible pigeon hole storage, with, pick algorithms devised and initiated and systems integrated to achieve a smooth and seamless operation.

With high end brands and high customer expectations, it was essential to carefully consider the experience of the end customer.

Intricate packing and wrapping was also put in place, with each item being individually wrapped and with specific branded tags, cartons and tape being utilised. All of which added to the quality and experience that the customers of these high-end brands expect.

The Results

Davies Turner’s logistics experience and a strong partnership with Tomorrow has helped the e-commerce operation to grow rapidly since its launch. In the first year alone, online sales saw growth of 500%, with a further increase of nearly 250% in 2019; a trend that is likely to continue.

Davies Turner has implemented an effective and robust operation, which is not only scalable to accommodate this type of growth, but can also handle and adapt to the day-to-day fluctuations in volumes which are so common in this marketplace.

Currently picking up to 2,000 units and handling up to 250 returns per day the team have certainly shown their efficiency and expertise and are ready to rise to the challenge as volumes are set to continue to increase.
