BTEC Intermediate Award in Multimodal International Freight Procedures

Date Added: 11 April 2019

Davies Turner’s 2017 Freight Forwarder Trainees are taking part in the British International Freight Association (BIFA) BTEC Intermediate Award in Multimodal International Freight Procedures at our Coleshill site during April 2019. The course which is hosted over a five day period is being delivered in house by BIFA.

The BIFA course is a nationally recognised qualification which is accredited by Edexcel at BTEC Level 2. Successful candidates receive two certificates, one from Edexcel and one from BIFA.

The course is completed over a 4 to 8 weeks duration. The course encompasses five days attendance, spread equally over the period, including work-based assignments and projects.

Our trainees Mercy Marume, Timothy Redman, Jade Bruyel, Toby Coster, Julie Escande, Emily Pownall and Nicole Cook are all enjoying the training which gives them the opportunity of meeting at a central location to share their experiences so far.

Davies Turner is also a founding member of BIFA’s ‘Trailblazer’ employer group which was given the go ahead to develop the standard for a specific International Freight Forwarding Operative apprenticeship back in April 2017.

All the youngsters will learn every aspect of Davies Turner’s business during the two-year training scheme and they can be hopeful that like many of their predecessors, they may progress into management and supervisory roles.
