China ports handle 169 million teu from January to July, Shanghai still leading

With our strong presence in China’s container shipping market, and an array of international container shipping operations serving the country, Davies Turner notes a report in the Hong Kong Shipping Gazette that ports across China moved a total of 168.7 million teu from January to July, an increase of 4.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2021.

The report adds that Shanghai remained the best performing port, with a traffic of 26.8 million teu from January to July.

Last month, China ports reported a total throughput of 142.3 million teu moved over the first half of 2022, accounting for a 3 per cent climb year on year.

In addition to our long-standing container shipping operations to and from China, we remain the only freight forwarder offering direct weekly consol box services by rail to and from the UK and China.
