Covid-19 curtails operations

Date Added: 17 August 2021

Davies Turner Air Cargo offers a wide portfolio of expedited air freight logistics services to and from the Chinese market, and we have certainly noted that Chinese and international airlines have been cancelling cargo and passenger flights from many of the country's airports due to new outbreaks of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A recent article in the Freightwaves newsletter provides a comprehensive summary of how Chinese restrictions to control a spike in Covid-19 infections have severely curtailed cargo operations at several airports and reduced crew availability, forcing airlines to cancel hundreds of flights as the peak shipping season kicks into high gear in a sector already struggling to keep up with high demand.

The full article can be read here:

Whilst we do not have exact figures, we do have evidence that in addition to flight cancellations, others are being deferred, and some airlines have limited the cargo volumes that they will load due to lack of manpower at almost all airports.

However, Davies Turner Air Cargo is working hard to secure as much space to provide as much capacity as possible to our regular customers.
