DSV agrees to acquire Schenker

As one of the UK's largest freight forwarding and logistics organisations that is still in the same family ownership since our origins in 1870, we note that DSV has announced its biggest transaction to date after signing an agreement to acquire Schenker from Deutsche Bahn.

Davies Turner believes that this is the largest deal in the industry for many years and expects the fall out to be just as significant, as a result of the rationalisation that always accompanies merger and acquisition agreements.

DSV says that the acquisition will strengthen DSV's global network, expertise and competitiveness, benefiting employees, customers and investors. The value of the acquisition is EUR14.3 billion.
