IATA issues updated lithium battery shipment guidance

Date Added: 6 January 2022

With a strong presence in the airfreight arena through our subsidiary Davies Turner Air Cargo, we note that IATA has updated its lithium battery guidance document in line with the 63rd (2022) Edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).

The document outlines the definitions, classification, exceptions, prohibitions and includes frequently asked questions (FAQ).

It also provides information to manufacturers of these active devices, users of the active devices and operators that must approve the carriage of active devices in cargo.

The link to the guidance can be found here https://www.iata.org/contentassets/05e6d8742b0047259bf3a700bc9d42b9/lithium-battery-guidance-document.pdf
