The Challenge
Davies Turner Rotherham was contacted by Formosa Transport, a Taiwanese agent, when they needed help moving a minature vintage locomotive over 6000 miles from Welshpool to Kaochsiung Port, Taiwan.
The Strategy
Although there was an absence of handling facilities at the pick up point - a rail station in Llanfair - Davies Turner Rotherham sourced and employed a specialist haulier to organise a vehicle with a crane, which could lift the locomotive straight from the rails to the vehicle.
The Solution
The locomotive was then taken to be specially loaded, chocked and secured into an open top container on its original rails ready to transport.
The Results
A very happy customer.
