Working Hours                 Mon to Fri 37.5 hours per week


Our ideal candidate:
  • CIPD qualified (or working towards level 5) with 3 years’ generalist HR experience, preferably in a commercial, private sector industry
  • Proven record of building relationships with key business stakeholders and an ability to quickly grasp commercial issues
  • Flexibility to travel (full driving licence required) and work from other sites with occasional overnight stays
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, producing accurate work and meeting deadlines
  • Competent Excel spreadsheet skills, including pivot tables and manipulation of data
  • Excellent communication skills, articulate, tactful with good judgement
  • A professional, diligent and friendly manner
  • A team player with a flexible and pro-active attitude

In this role you will:

Provide a generalist HR partnering service to the business, supporting and advising on all HR operational requirements to drive business performance.

Playing a key role in the design, development and implementation of proactive HR initiatives, change programmes and projects, as identified by the HR Manager whilst delivering a day to day generalist HR service.

Support the development and up skilling of colleagues through coaching and training delivery.

With your key responsibilities being:

HR Advice and Support
  • Act as a subject matter expert on core HR policies, processes and procedures, providing specialist advice and direction on their practical application to key stakeholders escalating to HR Manager as appropriate
  • Develop positive and effective business partnering relationships with key business stakeholders through the appropriate management of internal customer expectations, agreed actions and by proactively giving and seeking development feedback
  • Provide expert support to the Branch Administration Team regarding their HR duties, advising on the application of HR policies, best practice, commerciality and effective stakeholder management
  • Proactively supporting the business to manage absence to reduce sickness absence.

Employee Relations
  • Oversee ER cases, providing commercially-focussed advice and direction on all employee relations issues, balancing the needs of the business, employee impact, risk and cost
  • Attend formal meetings where dismissal is a potential outcome and escalate formal appeals to the relevant Manager/Director.

HRIS and Administration
  • Maintain, update and create employment contracts
  • Undertake HR audits to ensure compliance to agreed processes
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate HR systems and metrics to facilitate the  full functionality of the HR Information System
  • Undertake any general administrative duties to support the successful delivery of the HR service to the business.

Training and Development
  • Coach Line Managers and Branch Administrators in order to upskill Branch Management teams
  • Coach and guide the management teams supporting high performance and delivery against core personal objectives
  • Supporting with the delivery of training and development programmes and initiatives, as directed by the HR Manager.

Recruitment
  • Proactively supporting the business on role design, writing job descriptions and job advertisements
  • Working closely with the Branch Administrators on large recruitment campaigns, short-listing applications and interviewing
  • Following up and feeding back on psychometric assessments used in recruitment and development.

Projects, Policy Development and Design
  • Supporting the implementation of HR policies and processes, with direction from the HR Manager
  • Undertake operational HR projects in line with the business deliverables and divisional business focus areas.
