Davies Turner has promoted Tony Cole to Head of Ocean to lead on its ocean freight forwarding services, building on his previous positions within the company.
Mr Cole replaces existing Head of Ocean, Kieron Larkin who is to lead a strategic review of the company’s computer systems and software that will underpin all its freight forwarding services. Both appointments took effect at the beginning of November.
Mr Cole joined Davies Turner in 1990 as ocean import manager and subsequent positions have also seen him head up the company’s Far East ocean freight trade lanes.
Whilst Head of Supply Chain Services, Mr Cole was instrumental in the launch and development of Davies Turner’s direct weekly Express China Rail consol services in 2018, which goes from strength to strength with bookings increasing continually.
Davies Turner chairman, Philip Stephenson said: “Tony is one of Davies Turner’s most experienced senior managers with a strong sales and operational record in ocean freight forwarding and international logistics.
“As the UK’s leading independent freight forwarding company, we work in partnership with an extensive range of carriers and overseas partners around the world to deliver efficient, top quality international ocean freight services.
“Kieron’s new role is to lead our business development team that will assess and formulate the direction that our IT systems and communications need to follow over the next five to ten years to support our business objectives and customer needs, whilst improving our competitive edge through the use of the latest systems and software.”
