Global schedule reliability drops to 52.1% in July
Sea-Intelligence has released issue 156 of the Global Liner Performance (GLP) report, providing schedule reliability data up to July 2024.
Davies Turner, with our comprehensive network of international container shipping services, including LCL and FCL import and export operations, notes that in July 2024, global schedule reliability dropped by 2.1 percentage points month-over-month to 52.1%.
Sea-Intelligence says that this level is nearly the same as at the beginning of the year, consistent with 2024’s trend of reliability fluctuating between 50% and 55%. Year-over-year, schedule reliability in July 2024 was down by 12.0 percentage points compared to July 2023.
The average delay for late vessel arrivals slightly improved, decreasing by 0.02 days month-over-month to 5.24 days, a figure only surpassed by the pandemic peaks of 2021-2022. Compared to the previous year, the July 2024 delay figure was 0.63 days higher.
On a year-on-year level, none of the carriers recorded an increase in schedule reliability, said Sea-Intelligence.
