Supply chain disruption: Now Bangladesh
With our large portfolio of international freight forwarding and logistics services, Davies Turner notes that the disruption affecting global supply chains and international trade caused by numerous factors from climate change to IT meltdowns, is now being added to in the shape of ongoing geopolitical disruption in Bangladesh.
The country is an important market for Davies Turner, both for ocean freight and air cargo, and we note many media reports that concur with our experience that Bangladesh's supply chains are facing many difficulties at present as a result of the recent civil unrest, with factories having been shuttered for a few days, exports forced almost to a halt and Customs process all but suspended as shipments through seaports and airports are disrupted.

Following the resignation of the country's prime minister, an interim government is in the process of being put in place but much uncertainty remains.
Davies Turner remains committed to helping clients manage the supply chain disruptions affecting all modes of transport not just in Bangladesh, but in many parts of the world at present. Our freight teams are endeavouring to keep in close contact with all clients to provide updates on specific cargo shipments that have been or may be affected.
